If you are in Kuala Lumpur and are extremely pressed for time, food enthusiasts from Malaysians will gladly recommend you to Jalan Alor. This is not surprising since this former red light district is now home to endless stretch of food stalls and has been featured on many blogs and television programmes.
Walking along Jalan Alor can be relatively overwhelming for many tourists. Besides having to watch out for oncoming traffic, one has to master the art of being decisive when faced with staffs that are extremely persuasive (at times, to the point of being pushy). To make matter worse, most of the food stalls specialize in the same area; seafood! Picking a place to eat amidst the presence of such fierce competition is very much a gamble. Still, it is a decision that we had to make. Simultaneously, we decided on Restoran Meng Kee Grill Fish.
From the stall’s name, we knew we had to order the grilled fish. There were a few selections to choose from and we settled for stingray. The stingray served was cooked differently from the ones served back home as it was not covered with sambal chili paste.
